Essentials to Pack for Road Trips!

As many of you know…I’ve spent my life taking road trip!

So, before you hit the road you need to think about what essential items you cannot live without on the open road. Trust me about 20 miles into your trip you’ll know exactly what you’re missing and need to stop

This list will take you through no matter if you are traveling around your home state or hitting the road for a cross country adventure and stopping everywhere in between. So pack up the car or travel in luxury made to get you where you’re going by visiting a Jayco dealers in Pennsylvania and hooking yourself up with an awesome RV, if you wanna go that route!

Here is our top list of essentials that will help you along the way.

Emergency Kit

Before you hit the road, you will want to make sure you have an emergency road kit. This should include jumper cables, light sticks or reflectors, and a tire pressure gauge. This is also an excellent time to make sure you have everything you could need to change your tires.

Make sure your spare is ready to roll and that you know how to do it yourself in the event your car breaks down in a rural area with light traffic.

Back-Up Chargers

You want to make sure that you are packing back up phone charges, especially if you are using your phone for navigation. Along those lines, it is a great idea to have a paper map, I never travel long distance without an atlas, just in case you find yourself in an area with limited cell service.

You also will want to make sure that you have USB cables if you are taking pictures with your camera instead of your phone.

Hot Spot

A portable hot spot can be a lifesaver when it comes to traveling in an area with lousy connectivity. By purchasing a mobile wi-fi device, you can make sure you stay connected wherever the road takes you. If you really need it.

What road trip is complete without snacks? Stock up on some essentials that will carry you through to your next meal and give you a boost of energy. A cooler is a must-have for seasoned road trippers as well. Having an ice-cold drink on hand after long hours of driving is lovely.

Not to mention, you can even pack sandwiches and other snacks that don’t do well in hot weather.

Now is the time to stock up on your iTunes and make some killer playlists. Signing up for Apple’s unlimited music plan is a must, so you have virtually any and every song at your fingertips for the long journey ahead.

Road trips are a great place to make lasting memories. You don’t have to travel across the country to experience the fun of the open road.

Try road tripping around your home state or neighboring states. If you are especially adventurous, you can hop in the car without a final destination in mind and head off wherever seems interesting, stopping all over along the way. And make sure you check out any wacky roadside attractions. That’s part of the fun!

  1. The sacred back-up charger. You don’t know how many times that I used my phone for navigation, got to our vacation destination, and had no battery charge to take pictures. Hands down, the most underrated item as an essential.
