Farewells and Rolling Hills

Two weeks ago our house was packed up in less than eight hours and drove away…

Two weeks…

It is crazy to think how much has happened in two weeks, we have watched our whole life drive away, slept in an empty home while cleaning in preparation to turn over the house back to the real estate company, packed up the truck, turned over our keys and drove away from what had been our home and our town for the last three years.

Sometimes it doesn’t dawn on you how much happens in such a short time. One moment your life is there, all in place like you are used too and the next everything is packed up and you are standing in an empty house.

I am excited that things are finally moving forward! For months now we have been talking about this period of time right now and have been talking with excitement and anxiety all at the same time about the time we are living in at this moment. I am ready…I think…for the upcoming adventures!

Driving down the road in Iowa

We already have one major leg down, cross country road trip with a 2.5 year old and a dog with a trailer on the back. Check! That’s done! Now it is nearly time for the next leg, flying to Alaska!

I will be spending about six weeks in Alaska before the next leg of our adventure. This journey will eventually lead us to España! It is going to be a long road by the time we get there but this is the time that I cherish – this is when memories are made.

More to come later…
