Northern Bound…

You never realize how crazy you are until you are nearly doing cartwheels because you get to see snow again…yeah that’s me!

Made a stop in Tennessee, right outside of Nashville. I will say I am a little bummed that I didn’t get to actually see/experience Music City but I was also so completely fried by the time I stopped for the night that I am okay with saving exploring Nashville till another day. PAH_5181

Then I drove up through Kentucky, I was most excited about the fact that when I arrived in the state there was snow!!! It wasn’t much and I don’t think that it stuck around much longer than a few hours but it was still there which was something PAH_5374So my first town I stopped at in Indiana, my sixth state I have visited on my grand journey, was French Lick, IN. No I wish I was kidding when I say that that is the real town name and apparently it has a seedy history with gambling in the early 1800s. I would have loved to spend more time exploring around this town, it seemed like it had a very interesting characteristic to it. But since that wasn’t quite in the cards I had to document it as much as I could during my short visit. PAH_5375What I love about being in the Midwest is how these small towns with populations of under 2,000 people is how they seemed to be completely untouched by the busy hustle and bustle of the outside city world. They have been designed and molded to maintain their history. I think that is what I love the most, since I am a kind of a history nerd, I believe that it is so important for every generation to know their history. Though I wasn’t able to see much of the town it is still one of probably hundreds of small towns in America I have driven through that are all similar to one another…history and tradition.
